What started as a frozen-fingers morning turned into a full-on T-shirt afternoon, and the 2nd Annual Creekside Invitational delivered on every front — fierce competition, two aces, an unforgettable community meal, and a moment of generosity that reminded everyone why disc golf is more than a game. Thirty-seven players completed two rounds at Creekside, with Lincoln Cook putting together one of the most dominant performances the field has ever seen.
Tournament Champion
Lincoln Cook took home the title in wire-to-wire fashion, firing matching rounds of 48 (-10) for a two-round total of 96 (-20). Cook’s round wasn’t just clean — it included an ace on hole 11 during Round 1, giving him CTP honors and a moment the field won’t forget. His consistency across both rounds separated him from an otherwise competitive field, finishing five strokes clear of second place.

Round 2 Standouts
The back half of the day saw some major momentum shifts. Kevin Hopkins quietly made his case for the podium by matching Lincoln Cook’s round-best 48 (-10) in Round 2, climbing from 5th after Round 1 all the way to 3rd overall. Nick Schroeder turned in the day’s most dramatic round-to-round swing, going from a 57 in Round 1 to a blazing 50 (-8) in Round 2 to lock up 6th place. Cody J Spoelstra stayed steady with a 51 in Round 2 to hold 4th, and Johnathan Hemphill posted the best individual Round 2 score among the mid-field, shooting a 56 (-2) to climb to 22nd overall.
Aces
The tournament saw not one, but two aces — a rare treat for any event.
- Lincoln Cook carded an ace on Hole 11 in Round 1, punctuating what would become a wire-to-wire championship performance. The ace also earned him CTP honors on that hole.
- Todd Porter answered back with an ace on Hole 2 in Round 2, keeping the crowd electric and earning a well-deserved CTP of his own.
Both players made history on the course and gave everyone in attendance something to talk about on the way home.
Women’s Division
The Creekside Invitational was proud to feature a Ladies Play division, and the women who competed made their presence felt across the entire field.
Jordyn Isner turned in the top women’s performance of the day, finishing T18th overall with a two-round total of 122 (+6). Her Round 2 score of 58 — dead even par — was one of the cleaner rounds of the afternoon regardless of division, and a real statement for women’s play in the field.
Grace Royal was right behind her, finishing 26th overall with a 129 (+13) across two steady rounds. Carrie Tolzien rounded out the top three in the women’s division at 142 (+26), showing improvement in Round 2 with a 70.
To every woman who teed it up at the Creekside Invitational — thank you for being here. Our events are better because you’re in them, and we hope to see the Ladies Play division continue to grow. You belong on this course.
A Day to Remember: Miss Alli
The tournament raised money in support of Miss Alli, a youth currently battling cancer who recently had her leg amputated. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who participated, donated, and showed up with open hearts, the event raised enough to send Alli home with her mobility chair and over $700 in additional donations to help her on her cancer journey. That kind of community giving is what makes events like this matter far beyond the scorecard. We’re all rooting for you, Alli.
The Food
A special thank you to Creekside Community Church for hosting and for the incredible pulled pork lunch that kept everyone fueled through Round 2. What a meal — it was worth the cold morning just to get there.

The Prickly Pines calendar is already filling up with reasons to get outside. This fall, we’ll be hosting a Family Campout — a great opportunity to bring the whole crew together for a weekend of disc golf, community, and camping. Dates are still being finalized, so stay tuned to our socials and website for announcements.
As the leaves turn and the nights get spooky, we’ll also be bringing back a Halloween Glow Round in October. Expect blacklights, costumes, and all the eerie atmosphere you’d hope for from a night round under the autumn sky. More details on format and additional Halloween festivities are in the works — this is one you won’t want to miss.
