Prickly Pines Weekly Disc Golf Recap – April 26, 2026

Sunday Tags brought out a strong field of 34 players to christen the brand-new concrete tee pads — and the course played host to some serious competition. Under cool, mostly cloudy skies in the mid-50s, players got their first look at the upgraded infrastructure, and the scorecards reflected a group that came ready to play. A wave of new players made immediate noise, while several veterans used the fresh tees to their advantage and climbed the standings in a big way.

Top 5 Scores of the Day

  • #1 Tag: Dain Cunningham — 47
  • #5 Tag: AJ Glasshof — 48
  • #7 Tag: Kevin Hopkins — 48
  • #8 Tag: Curtis Hake — 49
  • #10 Tag: Dennis Lu — 51

Top Performances

Dain Cunningham turned in the round of the day, firing a 47 to claim the coveted #1 tag — a remarkable debut outing launching him all the way from #126. Curtis Hake had plenty to defend as the holder of #1 coming in, shooting a solid 49, but had to settle for #8 on the new concrete. Kevin Hopkins rounded out the top three with a 48, good enough to jump 23 spots and add a CTP win to his afternoon.

CTP Winners

  • Cassandra Hake — Hole 3
  • Andy Humphrey — Hole 5
  • Kevin Hopkins — Hole 13
  • Cameron Burrow — Hole 15
  • Chase Hanebrink — Hole 18

New Player Highlights

Six new players made their Prickly Pines debut today, and several made an immediate impact. Dain Cunningham stole the show in his first outing, going wire-to-wire with a 47 to claim #1 straight out of the gate. Brandyn Lee also impressed, shooting a 52 to climb from #124 all the way to #16. Elijah Sterling rounded out the strong newcomer showing, carding a 56 for #50. Eric Basey (#114), Grant Kulp (#121), and Reed Brickell (#123) also checked in for their first rounds with the club.

Big Movers

Several returning players made major strides on the new concrete:

  • Chase Hanebrink: #114 → #12 (+102 spots)
  • Shane Haas: #65 → #27 (+38 spots)
  • Ryan Hofsheier: #38 → #11 (+27 spots)
  • Kevin Hopkins: #30 → #7 (+23 spots)
  • Dennis Lu: #32 → #10 (+22 spots)

Chase Hanebrink’s performance deserves a special call-out — a 102-spot jump is one of the biggest single-day climbs the league has seen, pairing that with a CTP win on 18 for good measure.

Looking Ahead

The ace pot remains in play — keep throwing at those pins. With new concrete tee pads now officially in rotation, conditions should only get better as the season heats up. Tags are moving fast, competition is fierce, and the field keeps growing.
